Dahon MU P8 Review
”The Dahon MU P8 is a gorgeously styled, well-built, and lightweight folding bike that truly stands out on the road. It offers some of the best specifications around for the money!”
To begin with I believe it is essential to outline what a well-rounded bike Dahon has produced in the MU P8. It has everything anyone could possibly want from a folding bike.
Not only is it light, weighing in at under 25lbs, so that anybody can carry it around almost effortlessly.
But it is also extremely well built too, the Dalloy Aluminium frame that the MU P8 boasts is exceptionally well regarded as being one of the most durable ones around.
It boasts a lattice forged hinge and a brilliant V-Clamp that enables rapid folding.
This frame also provides a really smooth ride, very minimal vibrations traverse through it, and in combination with Dahon’s standard Schwalbe Marathon 20″ 60 PSI tires, it genuinely is one of the more comfortable rides around.
The MU P8, as many of you will have guessed, has 8 different gear speeds and this is absolutely perfect for both city dwellers and suburban riders too.
Dahon has always done a fantastic job when it comes to producing fast-folding bicycles, however, the MU P8 seems to have an extra little kick behind it, especially considering that it only has 8 speeds, compared to other bikes that have many more.
We found that the bike excelled on the flats, as expected, it had a relatively high top speed.
However, more impressively, the Dahon MU P8 did particularly well up the steep hill in my city. Not many folding bikes have the hill-climbing capacity of this Dahon model.
Another essential consideration that has to be made in any review of the Dahon MU P8 is its truly affordable price tag.
This bike has specifications that are typically associated with the more premium folding bikes around, it is lightweight, and folds down to a truly small and compact fold.
It seamlessly shifts between gears and it comes with an optional rear rack that makes the Dahon MU P8 a beautiful bike that is suitable for both commuters and leisure riders alike.

All in all, I can’t complain about the Dahon MU P8, it really is another excellent folding bike by Dahon that will be treasured by all that decide to purchase one.
While it is certainly not quite as refined as some of their more premium models, it is a stunning bike that is never going to pose a problem on the road. For the money, it is difficult to beat and is well regarded as one of the best folding bikes around for plenty of reasons.
