The Mirax Finiss is a stunning road bike that has been constructed with functionality in mind. Weighing in at only 28 lbs, Merax has done a wonderful job at ensuring that the bike is both extremely lightweight and maneuverable.

As with all of the road bikes that Merax produces, the Finiss has been designed to be suitable for beginner riders, those who have owned a bike before but would like a cheaper alternative, and indeed people looking to own a bike for competitive purposes.

The Finiss road bike is equipped with a thin and lightweight aluminum frame that is easily able to carry any rider. You can purchase the bike in a wide range of different styles and colors, Merax also provides different sizes of this model too – ensuring that you will definitely fit on it just right.

”Merax always provide exceptional quality for little cost and they have done it again today with the Finiss RX5.0 – a wonderfully refined racing road bike for the amateurs among us!”

Currently, there are three separate color designs available, all of which are an amalgamation of two tones; red/white, green/black, and yellow/grey. We are a fan of all of the designs, they are well suited to both male riders and female riders alike.

One key note on the Finiss is the fact that it has been aerodynamically designed so that you effortlessly glide down the road.

This is an often overlooked feature, but in reality, many bikes of today do not take this into account and as a result, you end up in an awkward posture that is not conducive to maintaining momentum.

Performance

With the Merax Finiss being toted as a unisex bike, they had to not only ensure it was colored appropriately, but also that it fits all sizes of men and women.

The bike comes in three separate sizes currently; large (58cm), medium (54cm), and small (50cm). Sometimes people find it a convoluted task to determine which size of bike to buy for themselves, I will now try to outline this.

Essentially, the measurements listed above relate to the distance measured from the bottom bracket to the saddle.

One important note to consider is that you can still extend the seat and so there is room to configure the bike further once you have purchased it.

It is important to ensure that you are riding in the correct posture when you’re on the road and so I would recommend configuring it carefully once you buy your bike.

Finiss Bike Test Ride

The majority of the components on the Merax Finiss are provided by Shimano, the Finiss utilities a 700c steel fork – which provides stability on the road and reduces vibrations substantially.

The front (TZ-31) and rear (RD-TZ50) derailleurs are both produced by Shimano and they work extremely efficiently with the Shimano SA050 shifters at enabling rapid and smooth gear changes.

These features are particularly beneficial for those of us that enjoy racing on the roads, whether for competition purposes or for leisure.

The Finiss has a set of gorgeous Kenda tires which are set upon some durable A5 aluminum rims – these again are very firm and provide a great base for the bike.

I think that it is important to consider the Merax Finiss for what it actually is. It is a road bike, designed for people who enjoy a pacey ride at a very affordable price!

Now, if you find yourself comparing it to a bike that costs three or four times as much money, you may be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a well-priced bike that is definitely capable of providing an awful lot of fun and functionality, then this could be the perfect model for you.

The technical specifications of the Finiss are not sub-par, they are actually well above what you would typically expect from a bike at this price.

To add to this, the bike looks fantastic too and it really is aesthetically appealing, this isn’t something that I say too lightly either.

One final note about the bike is that it does not come ready assembled and so you will have to do some tinkering before you get it onto the road, in my experience, this shouldn’t take any longer than about half an hour of your time.

While the bike is designed for racing purposes, it’s probably not the best model to go for if this is your sole intention.

For slightly more money you could get a lighter and more refined road bike for racing, however, if you are on a tight budget then don’t shy away from the aluminum-framed Finiss as your driver.

Personally, I think that this bike is best for those who enjoy a bit of speed but don’t see themselves as the racing type per-se.

Concluding Remarks

I would truly recommend purchasing the Merax Finiss road bike if you are looking for a first step into the road biking world and you don’t have an awful lot of money to play around with.

The components used are of reasonable standards and it’s hard to find much better without spending astronomically more money.

The Finiss is very lightweight and aerodynamically designed, the wheels can easily be removed for storage purposes and its economic price is certainly not going to break your bank account either.

All in all, it is a great bike for both men and women for all intents and purposes! If you do decide to give it a go, please let me know what you think about it in the comments section below this post.

The Best Road Bikes I’ve Reviewed This Year:

Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike,...

#1 Tommaso Imola: This is my absolute favorite road bike for beginner to intermediate riders who use their bike regularly. It comes with a 24-speed Shimano Claris drivetrain, Corsa TC20 wheels, an aluminum frame, and ultracompact handlebars. Check out what the Tommaso Imola is going for on Amazon right now.

#2 Vilano Shadow 3.0: I really like this road bike for anyone who’s looking for exceptional performance on a tight budget. The Vilano has features, such as integrated shifters, which I would only expect to see at a much higher price point. It performs exceptionally well on the road too even for longer distances. Check out the amazing reviews it’s been getting!
